Just stumbled upon a gem of wisdom from an unlikely source, Leslie Higgins, the fictional character from the hit TV series Ted Lasso: "A good mentor hopes their people move on to greater things; a great one knows they will!"

This quote beautifully encapsulates the essence of effective leadership. As leaders, our goal should not only be to inspire, guide, and mentor our team members but also to foster an environment of growth and advancement. The hallmark of an exceptional leader isn't just the success they achieve, but the success they facilitate for others.

A Gallup study shows that managers who focus on their employees' strengths can practically double their workforce engagement rates, with 67% of employees being engaged versus a mere 33% under managers who aren't as focused on their strengths (Gallup, 2020). This has huge implications for productivity and overall business outcomes, as companies with a highly engaged workforce outperform their peers by 147% in earnings per share.

Taking care of our people means believing in their potential, honing their strengths, and preparing them for future opportunities—even if it means they'll eventually outgrow their current roles. This approach leads not only to the individual's personal growth but also contributes to the collective success of the organization.
